After a day of leisure in  Johannesburg you will board the Blue Train a magnificent moving five-star hotel for your 2-day journey to Cape town. The Blue Train has become synonymous with the ultimate in luxury travel and personal service. It is all inclusive experience offering a combination of unsurpassed luxury travel, five star-accommodation, fine cuisine, personalized butler service . The routes offer breath-taking views of the countryside. This tour includes car rental allowing you total freedom to explore South Africa. After arriving in Cape Town, drive to Oudtshoorn the Ostrich Capital followed by a stay in beautiful Knysna before concluding your tour at Garden Route game tour viewing the wildlife from a jeep safari. We can arrange an English-speaking driver to transfer you between each location and on your excursions if you do not wish to self-drive, at an additional cost

The Blue Train

You will be met at the International Airport and transferred to your hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel you will be transferred to Pretoria Station where you will board the Blue Train for your journey to Cape Town. In the afternoon tea is served. You will  have time to change for dinner which is followed by post dinner drinks cognacs and Cuban cigars.

Enjoy Breakfast onboard between 6am and 9am. After breakfast there is an off-train excursion to Kimberley Open Mine Museum Return to the train for aperitifs and lunch. Sit back and  admire the great views before afternoon tea and dinner

Arrive Cape Town at 10.30am. You will be met by your guide and private vehicle for a private half day Cape Point Tour, which is one of the world’s most spectacular drives. Visit Hout Bay, Chapman’s Peak, Noordhoek Beach, the Cape Point Nature Reserve, two lighthouses on the tip of Africa, Boulders Penguin Colony, Simonstown and Kalk Bay. The rest of the day is at leisure .

At 9am your rental car will be dropped off at your hotel. Enjoy a full day at leisure with time to visit Table Mountain and the V&A Waterfront. Overnight Cape Town

Check out after breakfast and head out along the well-known Route 62 in South Africa’s beautiful Klein Karoo, to the charming town of Oudtshoorn,  known as the ostrich capital of the world. The town is surrounded by numerous ostrich farms and the golden arid landscape of the Karoo. Enjoy the locally produced wine and port; sample ostrich meat and biltong and learn about the ostrich feather boom at the C.P. Nel Museum.

Starts your day by visiting Cango Ostrich Farm. The  facilities include, a wine house, a fine dining restaurant and a curio shop. This is a followed by a tour of Cango Caves the largest cave system in Africa featuring ancient rock formations and sparkling stalactites and stalagmites. Then a 10 minutes’ drive to Swartberg pass for a sunset tour followed by a traditional South African dinner at Kobus se gat restaurant.

After breakfast you will make your way to Knysna known as the ‘Garden of Eden’.
It is surrounded by world-renowned forests, lovely lagoons and pristine beaches. Look forward to an array of markets offering delicious food and organic locally-made goods, explore the town’s picturesque waterfront and quaint streets or adventure through the lush forest, skip over streams and catch a glimpse of the multicoloured Knysna Loerie. Take a ferry trip to the famed Knysna Heads and sample the local oysters. Afternoon at leisure. Optional activity available will be the Feather Eco Cruise.

Check out and begin your journey  along the N2 and make your way to Garden Route Game where you will spend your last night. Arrive in time to join for the afternoons safari departing at 16.30pm.  Visitors to the Garden Route Game Lodge can enjoy luxury accommodation, game viewing in open Land rovers,  and a memorable dining experience in one of the African style restaurants
